Krymenergo was Ukraine'second largest utility company according to market capitalization. It operated the electrical power distribution on the Crimean Peninsula and offered regional consumer services of electricity supply and transport. the Company operated 29,400 km of 0.4 — 110 kV overhead transmission lines, 4,100 km of 0.4 — 10 kV cable lines, over 10,000 power transformers with total capacity of nearly 6,000 MVA. The grid and substations were spread over the territory of 27,000 sq. km which housed some 2 million population. The company supplied electricity to 802,900 customers, including 780,300 households and approx. 22,600 industrial and commercial customers As of 2006, 70% of Krymenergo shares were state-owned and were transferred to the Statutory Fund of NJSC Energy Company of Ukraine, 5.128% were owned by VS Energy International N. V. (Netherlands) and 6.143% by "Lindsell Enterprises Limited" (Cyprus). 5.6% of further shares were owned by physical entities. In March 2006, 10.01% of shares in Krymenergo were accumulated by Hasador Group Ltd. (GB Virgin Islands). As of June 2010, DTEK confirmed it owned 12.49% of the stock in Krymenergo. The Energy Company of Ukraine owned 25% while the State Propeerty Fund of Ukraine owned 45%. Cannot trace any amount paid for any of the shares.
