Description | The Ksi Lisims liquefied natural gas (LNG) project is a floating gas liquefaction and export terminal planned for British Columbia's northern coast. It aims to export 12 million tonnes of LNG per year, supplied by the approved but not yet built Prince Rupert Gas Transmission (PRGT) pipeline. The project is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Western LNG LLC and is co-developed with the Nisga'a government and Rockies LNG. The facility is sited on Nisga'a First Nation lands and is undergoing environmental assessments and seeking regulatory approvals ahead of a final investment decision. The project faces significant local risks including challenges to the PRGT pipeline, uncertainty about securing BC Hydro's electricity supply, and global market uncertainties that could impact its financial viability and completion on budget. |
