Description

Description

This project involves demolishing the existing KT telecommunications center and building large-scale complex facility as the first luxury modern French five-star hotel and business facility in Korea, with a total floor area of 132,496.48㎡, 5 basement floors to 32 floors above ground, and 28 floors above ground, respectively. The project, which began in 2016 with the goal of efficiently using the Songpa branch site, was successfully completed in 2021 starting with demolition at the end of 2018. The two different buildings standing tall toward Seokchon Lake will become new landmarks in Jamsil.Since the site is located in the center of a tourist destination, a top-down method to ensure the  safety and minimize complaints of numerous tourists was adopted. In order to solve the problem of the Seokchon Lake water level lowering in the early stages of construction, the Slurry Wall Method was applied to minimize the outflow of groundwater and maximize the structural safety and water barrier effect. In addition, real-time measurement and monitoring were conducted to solve noise and vibration complaints at Lotte Aquarium adjacent to the site, and the excavation work was completed without any major problems by applying the (low noise low vibration) Tornado Method. The exterior finish construction was successfully completed without any safety accidents resulting from heavy weight and installation of the 32-story high-rise exterior construction, and integrated quality was assured through continuous improvement of construction methods by field employees using curtain walls and stone units.
