The project will renovate the Ktunaxa Regional Health Centre in Cranbrook to ensure health services can be maintained for the Ktunaxa Nation during COVID-19. The project will help provide better access for Aboriginal/vulnerable people to healthcare services, as well as increasing prevention services and decreasing cost reactive services like Emergency Department at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital. Recently, Primary Care Network has evolved facilitating 8 new professional and health care positions administered by the Ktunaxa Nation and housed within the current Ktunaxa Clinic at the Ktunaxa Nation Governance Building, which does not have the space to accommodate this and future growth. More space is required to adhere to COVID-19 safety protocols and to facilitate rollout of COVID-19 vaccine. The project works include: - sitework and concrete; - HVAC installation; - framing and construction; - roofing upgrades and repairs; - thermal and moisture protection; - doors and windows; - finishes and specialties; - lighting fixture upgrades; - mechanical, plumbing and electrical works; and, - all related works.
