Kuala Jelai Phase I and Phase II Water Treatment Plants

In September 2003, Salcon Bhd unit Salcon Engineering Bhd was awarded a management contract worth RM64.1 million (US$8.97 million) from Jabatan Air Negeri Sembilan (JBANS) to manage and maintain phases one and two of the Kuala Jelai water treatment plant, which were originally built by Salcon in Negeri Sembilan. The scope of work included providing management, supervision, labor, tools and chemicals for a period up to March 31, 2012 or the privatization of JBANS, whichever was earlier. The total capacity of the two plants was 45 million litres of water daily. The project was initially undertaken on a month to month basis beginning April 1, 2003.
