Description | On 19 September 1995, Grand Saga Sdn Bhd signed a 30 year BOT contract with the government of Malaysia for the rehabilitation and operation of a 11.75km toll highway between Kuala Lumpur and Kajang. The highway is being rehabilited and toll booths constructed and the road is expected to open in 1999. This road is part of the development of the Cheras-Kajang corridor. Upgrading the highway will cost RM329 million (US$ 129 million). Grand Saga is funding the project through RM50 million in equity, RM 50 million as a soft loan from the government, RM 210 million from commercial loans, and RM11 million from other internal funds.
