The project entails the concession of Kualanamu International Airport in Deli Serdang, North Sumatra, Indonesia. As a result of the project development, the number of passengers is expected to increase to 54 million per year. GMR Airports Consortium is the strategic investor owned by GMR Group from India and Aéroports de Paris Group (ADP). The consortium signed the Shareholders’ Agreement and Share Subscription Agreement with Angkasa Pura II (AP II) for the development and operation of the airport. Under the contract, AP II owns 51% of Angkasa Pura Aviasi shares, while GMR Airports Consortium owns 49%. The management and development of the airport is carried out under a strategic partnership scheme for a period of 25 years with a cooperation value of around $6 billion including investments from the private strategic partners of $3.9 billion, with the remainder $2.1 billion to come from the Indonesian side.
