Kukrail Night Safari and Day Zoo Project

approved

The Kukrail Night Safari and Day Zoo project is an ambitious initiative by the Uttar Pradesh government to develop India's first Night Safari and a Day Zoo within the ecologically sensitive Kukrail Reserve Forest in Lucknow. The project spans 855 acres and will be developed in two phases: Phase I includes the Night Safari and Eco-tourism Zone, and Phase II includes the Day Zoo. The Night Safari will feature theme-based zones inspired by wildlife landscapes, night trails, naturalistic animal habitats, and forest trails, with visitors traveling in battery-operated vehicles. The project aims to combine wildlife conservation, research, education, and tourism, including facilities like conservation breeding, wildlife interpretation and education centres, cafeterias, a 7D theatre, and an auditorium.
