Description | The project brings together five municipalities – Bălăușeri, Tápiószentmárton, Gerjen, Fót and Zemianska Olča – from three EU Member States: Romania, Hungary and Slovakia. The project aims to: Encourage cooperation; Raise awareness of Europe's cultural and linguistic richness; Promote intercultural dialogue. To achieve these objectives, two major events will be organized over 12 months: 1) Intercultural festival: This vibrant event will feature visits to significant historical and cultural sites, including the Kőrispatak Straw Hat Museum (kőrispataki Szalmakalap Múzeum/ Muzeul pălăriilor de paie – Crișeni), the Reformed Church in Bălăușeri, the Medieval Citadel of Sighișoara, Rhédey Castle in Sângeorgiu de Pădure etc. The festival will feature concerts, folk dance performances, a local producers' and artisans' fair, exhibitions, a wine competition and an intercultural mini conference. It aims to highlight the cultural richness of the participating towns through music, dance, local crafts and community spirit. 2) Conference on the common future in the EU that will include: “Women’s rights and economic empowerment in post-communist Hungary, Slovakia and Romania” – Sharing good practices for promoting gender equality and non-discrimination, with a focus on the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and displacement due to the conflict in Ukraine; “The marginalization of Roma communities in eastern Europe: historical and contemporary perspectives” – Exploring historical and contemporary perspectives on socio-economic diversity and examining best practices for engaging citizens from diverse socio-economic backgrounds, particularly in recovery and resilience efforts following the pandemic and economic impacts of the war; “Sustainable energy at the local level – Advancing the Green Deal” – Highlighting how municipalities in Romania, Slovakia and Hungary are transitioning to renewable energy sources. |
