Kwanlin Dun First Nation Community Hub

This project consists of constructing a new energy efficient, community building, located centrally within the main Kwanlin Dun community. The Kwanlin Dun First Nation Community Hub will provide a facility reflecting the culture and history of the Kwanlin Dun First Nation, while providing a community gathering hub. The building will include a dedicated space for an elders’ lounge, to gather, share traditional stories and seek advice; a healing room, for those dealing with trauma of residential schools or other difficulties and tragedies; a place for restorative justice and circle sentencing; a specialized archival storage and treatment/handling facilities; a cultural classroom for hosting language classes and other cultural education activities; and display spaces for cultural materials, artifacts and art work.
