The project involves the construction of 88 MW La Genoveva wind farm located close to Bahia Blanca, in the southern part of the province of Buenos Aires in Argentina. The project was awarded under Round 2 of Argentina’s RenovAr program. PPA was signed in July 2018 for a 20-year term with awarded price of $ 40.90 per MWh plus adjustments. The SPV is Vientos La Genoveva I, a subsidiary of the sponsor Central Puerto SA. The estimated project cost is $ 124 million. IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, committed a finance package of $76.1 million which includes an own-account 30 million A Loan and a $ 46.1 million facility from IFC’s Managed Co-Lending Portfolio Program (MCPP). Financial close was announced on 27 June 2019.
