Description

The Comision Reguladora de Energia (CRE) awarded the La Laguna natural gas distribution permit to Distribuidora de Gas Natural de la Laguna-Durango, a subsidiary of Sempra Energy International in May 1999. DGN offered a tarrif of 1.2146 dollars per Gigacalorie and coverage of 50,084 customers by the fifth year of operation as part of its economic bid. In the next five years, DGN will build a 1,300 km distribution system in which it will invest US$ 40 million. Thus system will conduct an average of 38.5 million cubic feet (1.09 million cubic meters) per day, 53% of which will be destined to the industrial, 38% to the commercial and 9% to the residential sectors. The La Laguna-Durango zone covers Torreon, Coahuila, and Gomz Palacio, Ciudad Lerdo and Viotire de Durango. Sempra also paid US$ 7.8 million to take over the existing assets that were the property of Pemex. None None
