Description

Description

The La Rosaleda stadium in Malaga is undergoing a significant expansion and renovation project. The northern part of the stadium will not be demolished as initially planned, preserving the IES Guadalmedina institute. The stadium will be expanded laterally through the Tribuna and Preferencia stands, adding 15,000 seats and increasing capacity to 45,000 spectators. The project includes narrowing Avenida de La Palmilla to make room for new stands, redevelopment of the Preferencia area with plaza-like bridges over the Guadalmedina River, and creation of two fan zones on the north and south sides. Plans also consider new retail establishments, a dedicated fan zone in the north, a shuttle bus area, and a new car park to the north of the stadium. The project aims to meet FIFA requirements for World Cup venues and is targeted for completion before 2030.
