Description
Description | Results from the 2022 LFS pilot data collection on digital platform employment showed that in Latvia 1.0% of all employed persons in the age group 15-64 worked for pay or profit in tasks or activities organised through an Internet Platform or an App for phones and tablets. Labour market tendencies show an increase of digital platform employment, that is rather new form of employment and a way to gain additional income and manage work for many people around Europe. It is important to collect statistical data in Member States about persons, who have worked for pay or profit in tasks or activities organised through an Internet Platform or an App for phones and tablets, to produce standardized and comparable statistics for further policy planning. Considering previous results, when the proportion of all employed persons involved in digital platform employment in Latvia was so small and possible ongoing development of new forms of employment since then, an approach to collect the data in two waves (increase sample size) is planned. An outcome of the method is expected to be an inclusion of more persons involved in digital platform employment and production of more detailed statistics. The module will cover target audience (persons aged 15-64) in first and third wave of interviews throughout the year. Total estimated sample size – 11 700 persons. It is planned that of the total sample size 5% will be collected by CAWI, 15% by CATI and 80% by CAPI interviews. The module will provide detailed information on digital platform employment: on main paid digital platform work (area of activity, intensity, worked hours, assignments carried out, possibility of rejection of tasks, authority in price setting) and overall - share of income compared to total personal income, the reasons for involvement, access to paid leaves or pay benefits and if the digital platform work was the main job in reference period. |
