Description

Description

Construction of a 6000 sq.ft., 2-story building to expand museum displays/public spaces and to provide access during winter to museum and public events. *70% of the structure is public space, including exhibit halls, washrooms, boutique/reception, walkways & displays, flex rooms for workshops, films, lectures, meeting areas for school and seniors’ groups. *To increase accessibility the climate-controlled building will have an elevator, disabled-friendly washrooms and ground-floor exhibits. *The Society owns the building site and we anticipate few regulatory delays due to new build status. Municipal government officials believe that the project is doable. At least 40% of the project will be financed via private donors, many of whom have already been contacted. *Underserved groups include English-speaking Brome County/Townships residents, English-speaking tourists, museum visitors who seek First Nations exhibits, students/teachers, senior citizens and visitors in winter.
