Description
Description | The 163MW Laem Chabang 1 & 2 Electricity and Steam Power reached financial closure in June 2015, as the sole bookrunner and mandated lead arranger Kasikorn Bank, along with joint mandated lead arranger Land & Houses Bank Public Co Ltd raised a US$50.114 million loan to develop a facility that generates and sells electricity and steam to EGAT and Industrial Users in the industrial estate. Borrower of the loan was SPV B Grimm Power (Laem Chabang) 1 & 2 Ltd, a subsidiary of the project sponsor B.Grimm Power Limited project. This greenfield BOO project was to be located in the industrial estate in eastern part of Thailand and the total estimated cost was US$95 million(Bt3.4 billion). In June 2014, B.Grimm Power, a small power producer ("SPP") in Thailand, acquired two gas-fired combined-cycle cogeneration plants with total electricity capacity of 163MW and total steam capacity of 70 tons/hour, located in Laem Chabang Industrial Estate in Chonburi province Thailand, from Sime Darby Energy Pte. Ltd ("SDEPL"), an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of Sime Darby Berhad ("Sime Darby"). Two power plants should be considered as one package in the context of transaction process, investment commitment, debt financing, financial closing as well as publicly available information Captive percentage is not available. |
