Description | The Port Authority of Thailand (PAT) is a public utility state enterprise under the general supervision of the Ministry of Transport and Communications. Laem Chabang Port (LCP) is a commercial port under the management of PAT. LCP is comprised of 10 berths, 8 of which are leased to private sector operators who are responsible for investment in cargo handling equipment. Laem Chabang International Terminal Co. Ltd. was granted the operating concession for the B5 terminal in May 1996 for a 30 year period. Its major shareholders were Capital Rice Co Ltd, Marita Marine Co Ltd, P. Thailand Machinery Co Ltd, Siam Auto Parts Co Ltd, P&O Australia Ports Pty Ltd, P&O Netherlands BV and Neptune Orient Lines Ltd. In December of 1999 the company announced an investment plan in the terminal facilities of US$32 million (Bath 1,2 billion). None None |
