Lagos Electric Ferry Expansion

planned

The Lagos State Government plans to deploy 70 electric ferries over the next five years to expand water transport and reduce carbon emissions. The project aims to ease pressure on the road network by shifting commuters and cargo movement onto waterways, linking water transport to ports and road corridors. The government seeks climate financing and carbon market funds to support the initiative, positioning it as part of a broader transition toward cleaner and integrated transportation infrastructure.
