Lagos Urban Renewal and Land Administration Reforms

under implementation

The Lagos State Government is implementing reforms in land administration, urban renewal, and housing delivery. The reforms include expanding land supply, urban regeneration projects such as Katangua redevelopment and Okobaba relocation, consolidating multiple land title systems into a single framework, and rolling out a digital platform (E-GIS) for land management. The state will also enforce compulsory insurance for multi-storey commercial buildings and introduce an electronic planning permit system to expedite building approvals.
