Lake Logan Dredging and Wetland Creation Project

A proposed project by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources to dredge a 19-acre area of Lake Logan along the beach and boat launch area using a hydraulic suction dredge. The dredged material was to be placed into an inlet across the lake to create a 19-acre wetland area. The primary aim was to improve boater safety and enjoyment, with the wetland creation as a secondary benefit. The project faced opposition from local residents and stakeholders concerned about impacts on recreational activities and wildlife, and ultimately the permit application was withdrawn and the project did not proceed.
