Description | A near $400 million project to source water from Lake Michigan, stretching around 30 miles across Naperville, Oswego, Montgomery, and Yorkville. The project involves connecting water mains starting from Naperville to Oswego, Yorkville, and Montgomery, replacing older water mains with wider pipes to accommodate larger water capacity flow. The project is a joint venture between Yorkville, Oswego, and Montgomery, hooking up to existing water mains near Naperville owned by the DuPage Water Commission. The project is divided into 12 segments, with construction already started on the first segment in Naperville and tree clearing begun on other segments in Kendall County. The first water is expected in Yorkville by summer 2028 and in Montgomery by 2030. |
