Description | A habitat enhancement project at Lake Ouachita involving the placement of trees in the lake to establish fish shelters and provide cover for bass, crappie, and bream. Crews will cut trees on islands between point markers 28, 29, 30, and 33 during December 1-5 and December 8-12. The project is a collaboration between the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, with seven barges operating from the Crystal Springs Boat Ramp to place the trees. GPS coordinates of the fish shelters will be made publicly accessible after project completion. |
