Description

In May 2008, Lanco Kondapalli Power Private Limited established a merchant power plant for development of a 366 MW gas based combined cycle power project unit stage II at Kondapalli in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh. The project comprises of 2 units which includes 233 MW gas turbine and 133 MW steam turbine unit. This expansion project of upgrading capacity to 1155 MW will be executed in three phases. The first module of 366 MW CCPP is being executed under Stage II expansion A special purpose vehicle was established by Lanco Infratech to implement the project. The project achieved its financial closure in November 2008. The project was expected to cost approximately USD 278 million. The bidding and financing details are not available in public domain. Work on unit I (233 MW) and unit II (133 MW) was scheduled for completion by August 2009 and January 2010 respectively. Work on 366 MW was likely to be fully commissioned by January 2010.
