Description | Lanco Vidarbha Thermal Power Ltd was created to build and operate 1320-MW (2x660) thermal power project (based on super critical technology) at Mandva village in Maharashtra. The project obtained the environmental clearance in March 2011. Lanco Vidarbha Thermal Power Ltd was a subsidiary of Lanco Group. Lanco Vidarbha Thermal Power Ltd signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) for the supply of 680 MW of power for 25 years. The PPA for the balance power was to be signed during project construction. The project, estimated to cost Rs 69,360 million (US$1,517 million). The project reached financial closure in December 2010 with a debt component of Rs 5,549 crore and anequity of Rs 1,387 crore. A consortium of 16 banks and financial institutions, with Punjab National Bank in the lead, provided the debt component of the project. |
