Description | Exploitation Production and Construction Van Yen District JSC developed the 3.6MW Van Lang Bang small hydropower plant, Xuan Tam commune, Van Yen district. The project consisted of 2 turbines of 1.8MW each. The output was sold to the grid via a 35kV transmission line. Commissioning was expected for May 2012, but no evidence was found (hence reported as under construction). The first project expenditures were made in February 2010. A stakeholder meeting was held in September 2010. The project applied for UNFCCC CDM financing. Financial closure date was unavailable, but estimated at May 2012, expected commissioning date. Total cost was unknown, but estimated at US$3.6 million based on a conservative US$3.6 million per MW.
