Langfang City Water Treatment Project

In October 2006, Hyflux signed a 25-year rehabilitate, build, operate, transfer contract to maintain, operate and expand an existing water treatment facility in Langfang City, Hebei Province, China. The contract transfered maintainence and operation of an existing 80,000 cubic meter daily water treatment plant and required Hyflux to construct another 40,000 cubic meter daily plant to recycle water. Hyflux Utility was a wholly owned subsidiary of SinoSpring Utility, Ltd., which in turn was 50% owned by Singapore-based and -registered Hyflux, and RB (Labuan), an arm of Malaysian textile manafacturer, Ramatex Group. Hyflux expected to invest US$ 18.9million in the project. The project was expected to be complete by the end of 2007. As of February 2007, the project was under construction.
