Description
Description | This project strongly supports the main objectives of the Erasmus+ programme and the European Agenda for Adult Learning by making lifelong learning more open, inclusive, and accessible to all. It aims to help adults—especially those facing challenges in society—acquire essential language and professional skills. These skills are not only useful in everyday life but also foster participants’ professional integration and access to real employment opportunities. In doing so, the project contributes to strengthening their autonomy and confidence in their ability to enter the labour market sustainably. The project seeks to improve the employability and social inclusion of adults who are far from the job market, particularly applicants and beneficiaries of international protection (DPI/BPI), by combining job-oriented language courses with sector-specific training. Although primarily designed for DPI/BPI, LUMI is also open to any unemployed adult, regardless of status, as long as they are motivated to train and integrate sustainably into Luxembourg society. It addresses a dual challenge: • Social exclusion caused by language barriers and lack of recognition of prior skills, • Labour shortages in key sectors. By strengthening language skills, the project also supports better social and family integration, particularly by helping parents follow their children’s education and understand how their new environment functions. Beyond employability, the project promotes social inclusion, active citizenship, and community cohesion. The combination of language learning and practical sectoral training acts as a powerful lever for integration. In doing so, LUMI creates a motivating and accessible learning environment that fosters autonomy, self-confidence, and equal opportunities for all. Finally, the project is fully aligned with the goals of Erasmus+ and the broader green and digital transitions by promoting transferable and adaptable skills for the long term. |
