Description | The Lansing School District is installing a solar network capable of generating over 4.5 megawatts of clean energy. The project includes solar panels near the Alfreda Schmidt Community Center and the district's Hill Center, as well as on rooftops of five K-4 and K-8 schools. The solar energy will reduce the district's electrical bill and power six electric school buses. The project is funded by a $13 million energy bond and aims to save the district about $400,000 in the first year and $14 million over 30 years. |
