Description
Description | The project consists of replacing a large corrugated steel culvert on Red Head Road at the Mispec Beach outlet with a marine grade concrete pipe with fish baffles. The existing corrugated steel culvert is severely compromised, coming apart at multiple sections and leaving large gaps where material from the embankment is washing into the pipe. There is also a large embankment failure that is nearly at the edge of the road. Due to its severely compromised condition, an on-site detour has already been constructed in case of a complete failure, although traffic is not currently on the detour yet. A replacement culvert is necessary, and will benefit the nearby rural community of Mispec. |
