Largo Civic Plaza

A multimillion-dollar public civic plaza in Largo funded through the Maryland Stadium Authority as part of the Blue Line Corridor Project. The plaza includes play equipment, a dog park, a large lawn area, and shaded seating, designed to attract people to downtown Largo. The project was completed in December and handed over to Prince George's County, but the county fenced off the plaza citing safety, liability, and handicap accessibility concerns. The county plans to dismantle and donate the playground equipment, with the future of the artwork uncertain. The Maryland Stadium Authority clarified that the project was compliant with the Americans With Disabilities Act and that the county approved the scope of work and playground equipment.
