The redevelopment project involves the R147 million revitalisation of the ageing quay structure at Latimer's Landing in the Port of East London. The project aims to create a more accessible, visitor-friendly precinct with new restaurants, leisure outlets, tourism services, and related commercial activity to attract greater footfall and support tourism growth and economic activity in the Eastern Cape. The project also supports TNPA's strategy to diversify port activities and position the port for tourism and leisure markets, particularly for small-ship and expedition cruise operators.
