Description | "The project ""Latvian Roma platform II “Dialogue, participation and mutual learning”"" is logic continuation of the previous project ""Latvian Roma platform I"". Main objective of developing the Latvian Roma platform is to continue facilitate cooperation, consultation and dialogue between Roma civil society, governmental and municipality institutions’ representatives and social partners in order to ensure effective involvement of all relevant stakeholders and provide better coordination of the development and implementation of the set of policy measures on Roma integration at the national, regional and local level. In this project special attention will be devoted to the fostering the capacity building, empowerment and effective involvement of the representatives of Roma civic society, especially Roma youth, into the implementation of the set of Roma integration policy measures. The project contains various forms of activities: 1) Mutual learning, exchange of good practices, cooperation activities (regional meeting and field visit at the local level; practical workshop “Better Roma access to the labor market”, annual coordination meeting of the Latvian Roma platform); 2) Trainings, capacity building and empowerment (3 days workshop for Roma youth; training and support measures for Roma moderators at the municipal level; training (project workshop) for Roma activists, including youth and women).The proposed activities will involved main stakeholders of Roma integration policy, including Roma community (leaders, activists, representatives of NGO, mediators), staff and specialists and experts from municipalities (including social workers, teachers), representatives of responsible and co-responsible ministries and state agencies, and representatives of non-Roma NGOs (who deal with Roma integration issues), social partners, employers (private entrepreneurs)." |
