Samy is back in the Parliament and meets his new MEP : Valentine Cantel, a young, ambitious French politician who’s clearly a psychopath. A political animal to the core, who wants people to know about what she does. Which is how she ends up championing The Blue Deal, the shiny new name for a package of legal proposals designed (by others) to preserve the oceans. And so Valentine builds her team – a motley crew of suitably unthreatening MEPs. Or so she thinks, since among them Gesine a 60 year-old German lady who looks like a gentle grandmother… is the fiercest and shrewdest political animal you've ever met. Among The Blue Deal’s proposals will be Samy’s unsexy and anecdotal ban on finning. With the Council, now chaired by the Dutch for whom NO seems to be the default setting, Samy must learn the cruelties of political compromise. Meanwhile, Rose is back from California. But after Brexit the only job she can get is working for Guido as a lobbyist, for which she has no talent. Regarding matters of the heart, Rose and Samy carefully move back into the friendship zone. Until Rose meets Lydia, Samy’s new girlfriend: a gorgeous-looking Spanish Greenpeace lobbyist… Rose is forced to come to terms with her feelings for Samy and learn some humility. Ouch. Michel, following a political trade-off, has been elected President of Parliament. Martin, a German bureaucrat becomes his Chief of Staff, thinking that Michel is harmless. But Michel, being completely out of reach to rational discourse turns into a nightmare for Martin. Torsten is out of job since Ingeborg left to head a ministry in Berlin, so he decides to take a gap year. Without leaving the Parliament. Nothing wrong with that… In season 2, we delve deeper into our characters, their relationships with each other and with the strange beast that is the European Parliament. But at the end of the day, what is Europe all about except people who don't understand each other but still keep trying to ?
