"The City of Caltagirone and the Local Council of Mdina (MCL) have established a new and significant relationship through the creation of a twinning between their respective urban jurisdictions. This collaboration found its concrete expression in the project called ""CERV-2022-CITIZENS-TOWN-TT,"" identified with the action code ""CERV"" and registered under proposal number 101091169. This initiative is also known by the acronym ""CIMC."" The main objective of this project was to facilitate and promote intercultural and tourism relations between the two involved cities, Caltagirone and Mdina. This goal was realized through a series of activities aimed at enhancing the artistic and architectural heritage of both cities. The twinning between Caltagirone and Mdina was fundamentally based on cultural exchange, with a particular focus on highlighting the rich artistic and architectural heritage that characterizes both urban centers. This partnership strengthened the deep bond between the two communities, enabling them to share experiences and knowledge in the fields of art, Baroque music, painting, traditional crafts, ceramics workshops, and cultural landmarks rooted in their past. As a result of the success of this initiative, the cities of Caltagirone and Mdina plan to continue developing and deepening this valuable relationship, with the goal of further expanding cultural and tourism exchanges, while continuing to promote and enhance their shared artistic and architectural heritage. Both cities share an abundance of Baroque churches, museums, historical art collections, Baroque musical productions, paintings, traditional crafts, ceramics workshops, and exhibition spaces that contribute to preserving and promoting their original culture, rooted in Baroque history and tradition, as well as in the unique UNESCO heritage they represent."
