The development objective of the Learning Enhancement and Access Project for Papua New Guinea is to improve the learning outcomes of primary students. This project has four components. The first component, Preparing children to be ready to learn through ECE, aims to ensure children enroll in prep ready to learn with a strong foundation for future learning. The second component, Supporting teachers to teach effectively, has the following sub-components: Teaching and learning materials; In-service teacher training and ongoing support; and Teacher diploma upgrading. The third component, Modernizing the infrastructure and the management of the education sector, has the following sub-components: Digitizing education data and business processes; Investing in the national assessment system; and Needs-based investments in physical infrastructure for schools. The fourth component, Project management, monitoring & evaluation, and capacity-building, has the following sub-components: Project management and monitoring & evaluation; and Capacity-building.
