Leasburg Dam State Park Upgrades

Leasburg Dam State Park in Radium Springs, Doña Ana County, New Mexico, is undergoing a $2.9 million capital improvement project. The upgrades include road improvements, modernization of the wastewater system, rebuilding and repaving of Leasburg Park Road, intersection improvements, doubling parking capacity, expanding turnaround for visitor use and irrigation district access, and installation of new signage, striping, and fencing. Additionally, a modern septic tank and evapotranspiration bed will replace aging leach fields to prevent wastewater contamination. The Dam Tender's House, one of the park's historic structures, has also been restored. The project is funded by State of New Mexico Capital Improvement dollars and supported by a $260,000 U.S. Bureau of Reclamation grant.
