Description

Description

The objectives of the module are to improve health and living conditions and to create positive employment and income effects (3,000 job opportunities according to the BMZ Methodology Note) for vulnerable Lebanese and non-Lebanese population groups (around 50% each). This is to be achieved through the labor-intensive implementation of construction measures to improve drinking water and wastewater infrastructure. The project also helps ensure that the state-run Lebanese water supply companies can maintain basic services in the current crisis situation. The target group includes both the Lebanese population in the host communities and Syrian and Palestinian refugees, who each participate in the labor-intensive measures and benefit from improved water supply and wastewater disposal. Around 260,000 people benefit from the project through access requirements through an improvement in the water/wastewater supply situation. UNICEF is the sponsor and recipient of the FC measure.
