Description | The Lebrija Hydroelectric Project for Colombia will provide a loan to the Central Hidroelectrica del Rio Lebrija to develop and expand its power facilities. Currently, the Central Hidroelectrica has been unable to supply new consumers due to its insufficient generating capacity. As a result, there are several small industries, office buildings, and new homes without electric power. The project will help to alleviate these problems by: 1) constructing a new hydroelectric power plant and its supplementary facilities; 2) constructing a power house and step-up substation; 3) installing transmission lines; 4) building a substation at Bucaramanga; and 5) improving the distribution system. These new additions will increase the generating capacity of the Central Hidroelectrica del Rio Lebrija in order to provide enough power to meet consumer demand. |
