Description | The Lennox BESS is a proposed battery energy storage system with a capacity of up to 200 MV, planned to connect to transmission systems at the Lennox Generating Station in Greater Napanee, Ontario. The project aims to enhance the reliability of the transmission system in southeastern Ontario and is currently in the planning stages, with an open house held to engage the local community and address concerns such as safety and fire risks. Boralex plans to submit a request for proposal to the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) in December 2025, with contract awards expected in the second quarter of 2026 and anticipated operation by late 2029 or 2030. |
