Les Arcs Film Festival professional events gather the Industry Village (during the first 3 days of the festival) and the Summit (last 4 days of the festival), running annually during the festival in December, in the French Alps. They aim at supporting and promoting independent filmmaking in Europe, covering all steps of a film's life from development to exhibition. The Industry Village gathers more than 600 professionals from the European independent film industry around a selection of approximately 40 feature film projects divided in 3 sections: the Talent Village (first features at early stage of development), the Coproduction Village (projects in development) and the Work-In-Progress (projects in post-production). The Music village is a side section that aims at connecting professionals from the music industry (composers, publishers, labels, music supervisors...) and an important part of the Industry Village. The Summit gathers more than 300 exhibitors, distributors, technical providers, and tech startups, professionals from innovative industries, in a cross-sectoral approach. Through the screening of a dozen European feature films introduced by their distributors, it promotes the distribution of European films in French cinemas. The Summit also consists in workshops to discuss promotion of films and how to attract young audiences to cinema through data collection and analysis but also innovative approaches to the distribution of films. These two events allow to cover the whole chain of an independent’s film life and to reach out to all different work bodies in order to foster new and innovative collaborations within the industry.
