PASTORAL PATHWAYS (French title: LES SENTIERS DU SOMMEIL) is a feature fiction film project by writer and director Ahmet Necdet Cupur, co-developed by LES FILMS DE L’ALTAÏ (France), NIKO FILM (Germany), and IOTA PRODUCTION (Belgium). It will be the director’s first feature-length fiction film. Set in contemporary Turkey, the film is a coming-of-age story about two teenagers fighting for their right to study and gain independence, despite social, educational, and religious dilemmas— as well as the mysterious phenomenon causing several children in the region to fall into a deep sleep. The project’s main objectives are to further develop and finalize the script, strengthen its position in the international market through updated communication materials, and prepare for the shoot in Turkey and Germany—securing locations, casting, the creative team, and finalizing all legal agreements. Designed as an international co-production between France, Germany, and Belgium, the project will also include Turkey as a key co-production partner and executive producer. The goal is to secure a premiere at an A-list festival and reach a wide audience in cinemas.
