Lesotho - Institutional Support Project to the Ministries of Finance and Planning

The present intervention concerns the Institutional Support Project to the Ministries of Finance and Planning. It aims to strengthen the capacity of Government of Lesotho in planning capital budgeting, programming and the co-ordination of recurrent and capital budgeting. The project is also designed redress the major macroeconomic and structural imbalances in its economy which have resulted in a severe cutback in the country’s growth. Indeed, since 1988 a number of policy and adjustment measures have been implemented with a view to correct these major imbalances. The project should comprises four main components, namely: (A) Technical assistance; (B) Training; (C) Computerization and (D) Equipment.
