Lesotho - Likalaneng-Thaba Tseka Road Project

Likalaneng-Thaba Tseka Road Project is part of theupgrading/rehabilitation, maintenance and capacity building efforts the Road Rehabilitation and Maintenance Program (RRMP). It's designed to assist a proportion of the isolated rural communities through increased access to markets and basic social infrastructure services (i.e., market centers, access roads, schools and clinics) at lower costs, facilitate and improve traffic movements to and from the central mountain region. Upgrading of the proposed road in the central mountain region is expected to impact positively on the rural community through the generation of employment during project implementation and ensuing maintenance activities, improved accessibility to markets, schools, health centers and rural service centers. It comprises three components; namely: (A) civil works through upgrading of 85 km of existing gravel road to a Class A bitumen road standard of a width of 7.0-meter carriageway and 1.0-meter paved shoulders on either side between Likalaneng and Thaba Tseka; (B) consultant services for supervision of the above civil works; and (C) project audit services.
