Lesotho - Rural Health Services Project (RIISP) IV

The Fourth Rural Health Services project has been designed to strengthen basic health care delivery in rural areas of Lesotho. It should enable district hospitals at Berea, Qacha’s Net and Mokhotlong to provide secondary health care needed to back up primary health care delivered by rural clinics in the concerned health Service Areas. The project should complement the action of the Second and Third Rural Health services Projects. The project comprises five main components, namely: i) Mokhotlong Hospital rehabilitation and upgrading; ii) Berea Hospital rehabilitation and upgrading; iii) Qacha’s Nek Hospital rehabilitation and upgrading; iv) Institutional capacity in the three district hospitals strengthened in improved back-up and referral operations and services; and v) Project Management.
