The project involves the construction of the Lesotho Highlands Water Khubelu River Bridge in South Africa.The Khubelu Bridge is expected to have a length of around 270 m, comprising nine spans of 30 m each and featuring two abutments. The bridge will possess a width of 13.55 m. The primary purpose of this bridge is to ensure uninterrupted access to Mokhotlong town, even when the Polihali reservoir is at full capacity, and to sustain the connection to the national road network along the A1. The A1 serves as the principal route between the mountainous Mokhotlong district in northeastern Lesotho and the capital city, Maseru.
