Description
Description | The Lethbridge Broadband Fibre Project (the Project) is an investment in broadband infrastructure to improve connectivity for businesses and organizations in the Sherring and Churchill industrial parks areas, increasing download speeds from 5 Megabytes per second (Mbps) to up to 1 Gigabyte per second (Gbps) (a 200% increase in speed). It will build on existing assets and deliver broadband infrastructure from Tecconnect, the local technology incubator and a regional center for entrepreneur program delivery. The service could be scaled up once infrastructure is in place so investment is expected to meet the needs of this area for the next 50 years or more. As of the 2025-09-11 and 2025-10-23 project changes, the project will also increase fibre connectivity across several City of Lethbridge infrastructure assets. |
