Description | In December 2003, Panriver Investment, a subsidiary of Hong Kong based Panva Gas Holding Ltd, acquired 100% of Sichuan Lezhi Gas Company for US$1.79 million (RMB 14.8 million) from the local government of Lezhi county, Sichuan province. As part of the acquisition, Sichuan Lezhi Gas Company changed its name to Lezhi Panva Gas Company and was granted a 50 year exclusive concession to develop and operate the natural gas network in Lezhi county. The county had an area of 1,425 squared kilometers and a population of 869,000. At the time of the transfer, the company had 90.8 km of pipelines. Hong Kong based Panva Gas Holding Ltd was a publicly traded company in the Hong Kong stock exchange and was principally focused on commercialization of natural gas and liquefied petroleum in China mainland.
