LFP Battery Supply Chain and Gigafactory Development in Italy

Eni Industrial Evolution and the Seri Industrial group, through FIB, have agreed to jointly develop an integrated industrial supply chain for lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries. The project includes production of LFP battery cells and modules, assembly of stationary storage systems and electric mobility systems, and future activities such as materials recycling and cathode active material production. The project involves expanding industrial operations at the Teverola facility, completing a utility-scale energy storage system assembly line at Teverola-Brindisi by mid-2027, and building a second gigafactory with over 8 GWh/year capacity by 2029.
