LFS statistical infrastructure under IESS - LFS 2024 module

The 2024 LFS variables on ´young people on the labour market´ and ´educational attainment - details, including education interrupted or abandoned´ responds to demand for more comprehensive data describing complex situation of young people entering the labour market. This action is grounded in Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2022/2447 and Implementing Regulation (EU) 2022/2312 and the related explanatory notes made available by Eurostat. Main activity is data collection of eight-yearly variables. This action will bring data concerning topics of existence, level and main reason for formal education or training abandoned, medium educational attainment qualifications and match between skills, educational attainment level and field and current/last main job. The 2024 LFS module with variables on ´young people on the labour market´ and ´educational attainment - details, including education interrupted or abandoned´ will be based on commonly agreed objectives and indicators in Member States. SO SR will submit national strategies for common evaluation in this area. The results of the project will offer large opportunities to recognise situation of young people in relation to abandoned formal education, existence of secondary vocational formal education and potential mis/match of set of acquired qualities (education, skills) and real expectations of the labour market. Using common guidelines and submitted model questionnaire by Eurostat will be reached the mutual comparability and linkage of the output data. Even more, the methodology applied in the project will fully correspond to delivered instructions, variables and codes. The cognitive testing and pilot field tests at the beginning of the project will ensure further harmonisation with indicators that should have been surveyed.
