Description

The objectives of the operating grant workplan include consolidating organisational capacity and governance, implementation the strategic framework and ongoing strengthening of membership and board; ensuring the EU LGBTIQ Equality Strategy is renewed and effectively and successfully implemented, responds to the needs of LGBTI people, and leads to effective change in their lives; strengthening benchmarking in European and national policy-making; raising awareness amongst European and national decision-makers and policy-makers about discrimination and violence experienced by LGBTI; supporting the closing of legislative gaps at EU and national levels; strengthening the policy and programmatic responses from EU institutions and Member States; strengthening strategic alliances with civil society organisations, trade unions, local authorities and other actors; increasing the capacity of member organisations to carry out effective advocacy and engage in campaigns at national level regarding EU policy processes in support of strong EU human rights and LGBTI rights policies. The activities include management and development, capacity building, governance, capacity building and financial support for ILGA-Europe’s members, supporting the evaluation of the EU LGBTIQ Equality Strategy and the implementation of the renewed strategy, meeting and networking with relevant stake-holders, production of expert input, re-granting, media work, and communication and dissemination activities. The workplan has an estimated 1000 direct and 450 000 indirect beneficiaries. Results include increased quality and range of protections for LGBTI people and awareness, increased understanding of discrimination by policy-makers, increased capacities of the movement and ILGA-Europe. Outputs include educational and peer learning events (<8), publications (<12), meetings (<30), websites (1).
